PREPARE FOR 2012, Wine Lovers!!
The Schuylkill County Wine Festival will be held in the Hegins Park, Hegins, PA on
September 2, 2012
11:00 am – 4:00 pm
As the Grape Grows

For three full years a vine may grow,
Until the fruit it’s face may show.
The sun, the rain, and loving care,
The condition of the very air,
Do go into the woody growth,
Before the sweetness may burst forth.
Reflecting upon Mother Nature’s timing,
We can allegorize (while at the same time rhyming),
About the Festival of Wine that we’ve made in Hegins,
Having come some way from its humble beginnin’s.
We planted the graft (well… so to speak),
And, in the first year, just hoped for a peek,
Of what the vine could become some day,
If patience and love could have their way.
In watching it grow, we began to have hope,
That the idea we had would reach its full scope.
In delight we observed as the vine climbed the trellis,
And our energy just became all the more zealous.
By year number three we began to see fruit,
In the words of the Dutch, we thought “Yah, est gut!”
See, you wine lovers came to our nice, peaceful valley,
And our little soiree began to look more like a rally.
And, now, here we are upon year number four,
Hoping you’ll come once again for the tour,
Of the wine and the food that make life such a treat,
Not to mention the good people that you’re bound to meet.
You are the fruit which has sprung from the vine,
And when there is fruit it is surely a sign,
That the effort we made right from the start,
Has caused, in some way, some joy in your heart.
Please join us again, there is room yet to grow,
And still fertile ground for more graftings to sow.
We will do our part, and ask only of you,
To bring a good friend… or perhaps two!
There will be more super wineries displaying their wares,
Fresh from earning awards from their peers.
Nice music, nice cheeses, nice crafts to take home,
A shaded and beautiful park you may roam.
Thank you for being the fruit of our labor,
And thank you for taking time just to savor,
The sweet things we’re given when we just give some time,
And believe that the humble things may become sublime.

OUT WITH 2011….IN WITH 2012…..
Last year’s festival turned out to be a great success as we hope will be the case for our 2012 festival.
This year’s entertainment will feature the ever popular Mudflaps with our D J Dan Poletti and T J Fitzpatrick.
Our caterers will have the most tempting and delicious food available.
We sincerely ask that you visit our caterers and do not bring your own food and beverages into the park.
We are planning to add a few new interesting vendors coordinating with a wine theme.
Theme for the table decorating contest this year will be “Shades of Autumn” to promote the wine festival and the beautiful Hegins Valley.
We will as always have two baskets from each participating winery as door prizes in addition to the prizes for the table decorating contest.
Please set aside September 2, 2012 to spend a delightful day in the Hegins Park at the Schuylkill County Wine Festival with your friends and family.
